This magical black horse full of beauty and presence was first imported into the United States in 1974 from its native country, the Netherlands. It has become a favorite breed for performance and pleasure. Successful in carriage driving, dressage, and saddleseat Friesians are rapidly growing across the U.S. because of their sweet and willing nature. They become a friend and companion to their owner, and are capable of being a superior performance horse - the perfect mix.

The Friesian Horse Association of North America (FHANA), an association abiding by the rules of the Dutch studbook, was formed to continue the purity and regulations of the breed. There are over 4,000 Dutch registered Friesians in North America, 30,000 worldwide, and only 90 Approved Stallions.

Star Power: We imported three consecutive keur champions(2000-2003), and reserve champion in 2004, as well as many other horses awarded the ster predicate in the northeast and beyond.

Shawn Hennigan started working with Friesians in 1989 with the first ones in New England.  In 1992 with the Kent Family they continued and expanded their journey into the World of Friesians.

Our horses are imported with a full health check, and most have x-rays evaluated before they arrive. 

Not all Friesians are created equal.  We import horses that have the ability to become great athletes in dressage, driving or saddleseat.  Every horse has a discipline that it is better suited for, and we will let you know what that is with each horse.  But, all of our Friesians are great for pleasure and companionship.  For trail riding, beach riding, and all around FUN, as well as becoming your best friend.
